This is a CompTIA certification prep course.
Core 1 and Core 2 Exam Topic Focus
The Core 1 exam focuses on hardware, network, laptop and mobile troubleshooting. New (or expanded) topic domains in this exam include Virtualization and Cloud Computing.
The Core 2 exam focuses on Operating Systems (including expanded coverage on MacOS and Linux), Windows maintenance and troubleshooting, Security and Operational Procedures. The Core 2 exam features increased emphasis on computer security and introduces a new section on Change Management.
Course Timeline Note
With the latest revision of the CompTIA A+ exams (Core 1 and Core 2), a significant amount of new content has been added. As a result, CompTIA’s recommended timeline for the (Theory + Labs) version of the new course is 10 days.
To meet the 10-days course window, we will be using CompTIA’s alternate (Theory-only) 5-day timeline. Chapter assessment practice questions will be included during the course, and students will need to use hands-on labs and video clips outside of class hours. The hands-on lab environment will be available for 90 days following the class.
